Stampin Up UK, Calm Christmas, take 4

Stampin Up UK, Calm Christmas

Two ladies I know from out local church came round last night as I had promised them some help designing a card they could sell at the Christmas Fair.

As new stampers, they are pretty limited in their supplies and I had convinced them that they would get a lovely, but unusual card from the Calm Christmas Stamp Set, combined with Island Indigo card stock and ink.

After a few hours of chatting, drinking wine ;) and crafting, with a little help from my stash, they had come up with the four cards above - I think they did really well for first time stampers.

I shared some smoky slate card stock and dsp with them and we all love this silver ribbon from the Christmas Mini Catalogue.

Stampin Up UK, Six Sided Love - and lots of chat!

Stampin Up UK, Six Sided Love

I sold the 6 sided sampler card and matching punch to a friend recently and must admit it was a set I had never tried out myself.

Well, she called round for coffee today and bought the set with her, she wanted to try out some of my inks with it. We had a lovely hour chatting and crafting together, well actually more chatting than crafting but we did make one card!

The colours hadn't come out too clearly in the pictures. The base card is pool party with a mat of wisteria wonder, the other colour is so saffron (another first for me but relly liking this rich yellow).

For the sentiment we layered wisteria wonder chevron ribbon with a so saffron stamp from the label love set punched with the matching artisan label punch.

Stampin Up UK, Papillon Potpourri Pillow Gift Wrap

Stampin Up UK, Papillon Potpourri Pillow Gift Wrap

The wedding is rapidly approaching so a little more wedding crafting was needed today - this one was very simple.

I have bought a lovely silk robe as a little gift for my mum and my bridesmaid (and one for me) to wear while we get ready on the morning of the wedding.

We're all staying over in the hotel the night before so I thought it would be nice to wrap these up and ask the hotel to pop them in their rooms as little pillow gift in the evening.

I took some simple, cheap brown wrapping paper (I got 20m for £2 at Tesco!) and stamped it randomly using two stamps from the fantastic Papillon Potpourri set - I really love this set.

I used three different colours, wisteria wonder, pacific point and marina mist.

I made a little belly band for a 3cm strip of pacific point card stock lined with the chevron ribbon and topped with a stamped sentiment from the label love set.

Very tempted not to give them as pillow gifts as I want to see their faces when they see them!

Stampin Up UK, Christmas Card Inspiration

Stampin Up UK, Christmas Card Inspiration

Two cards I quickly put together this afternoon :)

I wanted to move away from the traditional red and green Christmas colours so played around with smoky slate and island indigo.

The small card came together very quickly and easily, it is a cute 8cm x 8cm card and will be perfect for giving to Eva's little nursery friends.

The larger card took me a bit longer, I was playing around with the colours and elements and it just needed something else - then inspiration struck - I heat embossed the sentiment in silver and it bought the card to life :)

I love the matching island indigo chevron ribbon - it is so pretty. It does have a bit on an optical illusion effect however with one end looking wider than the other - I measured a few times before I was convinced they were the same!

I am loving the Christmas Ornament stamps and punched.

Stampin Up UK - Boxes, boxes and more boxes!

Stampin Up UK - Boxes, boxes and more boxes!

Today has been spent making boxes, boxes and more boxes for the wedding :)

These will be filled with home made brownies and be waiting in our guests rooms when they check in on the Friday night before our wedding as a little welcome gift.

Stampin Up UK, O Holy Night

Stampin Up UK, O Holy Night

Well, once I'd started the Christmas Crafting I couldn't really stop myself!

I am so glad I tried out this stamp - I really am loving the multi fonts and think it makes a really striking Christmas Card.

I don't have any markers so I made the red Shepherds by stamping in image again in Cherry Cobbler and then cutting out the banner and sticking it over the Old Olive one.

The Old Olive ribbon is an absolute bargain in the Stampin' Up Clearance Rack, I think it is about £3.50 for nearly 10m! I'm going to stock up!

Stampin Up UK, Papillon Potpourri - falling in love with it!

Stampin Up UK, Papillon Potpourri

I've been playing with the Papillon Potpourri set again and have to say I LOVE it!

These butterflys look like the have literally just landed on the paper.

I also love the 'punched through' technique on the base card using the coordinating punch.

These cards literally took minutes to put together.

I am also really liking the Smoky Slate colour, I wasn't too impressed when it first arrived but it has certainly grown on me :)

Stampin Up UK Papillon Potpurri

Stampin Up UK Papillon Potpurri

My darling hubby to be is away all week on a business trip - the upside of this is that I can craft all night without feeling guilty.

Well that was the plan until Eva decided she didn't want to go to sleep until 9pm!

I needed three cards, so once she fell asleep I dug out the Papillon Potpourri stamp ste which I've had for a little while but hadn't used yet.

I also took my lead from the previous challenge of using just two colours in this case Melon Mambo and Marina Mist.

I made an engagement card for my cousin who got engaged on Sunday night, congrats Katherine and Mark

A get well card from my Gran who is a bit under the weather at the moment. I'm going to pop some photos from our recent practice photo shoot with out wedding photographer in there too.

And a thank you card for a friend that helped me out with some translation for our apartment in Copenhagen which we rent as a holiday let.

I think the congratulations card is my favourite - what do you think?

A Stampin Up UK Challenge

A Stampin Up UK Challenge

I was recently set the challenge of picking two random Stampin Up colours and creating something with them. White or cream could also be used - phew!

The first two colours I grabbed were Night of Navy and Cherry Cobbler - eek, not two colours I would have ever thought to have put together; but then that was the whole point of the challenge right?

This was what I came up with, quite simple but I kind of like it.

I've used the delicate doilies stamp set and a few people have said it reminds them of spirograph - I think I agree - does it still exist?

It is Naz, Eva's key carer at nursery's birthday this week so I think she will be the recipient of this card.

Cocktail Hour

I have never been known to turn down a cocktail so it seems only apt that our evening reception start with a cocktail reception :)

This is the cover I created for the cocktail menu.

I've used the Happy Hour stamp set from Stampin Up again and followed the theme from my welcome cards and wine list through.

Just need to decide which cocktails to serve now - certainly a Mojito and a Cosmo for old times sake - what are your favourite cocktails?

A lovely gift

Thought I'd take a break from showing you all my wedding stuff to share a lovely note book I recieved from a new Stampin' Up friend.

It is simply a small, plain note book that has been covered to make it look so pretty.

I love the way the labels have been layered to give a really effective look and the little stick on flowers.

I am sure it will inspire me.

Thanks you Sam :)

Personalised menus and name places

I'm a bit of a foodie, as is my hubby to be so when we were looking at wedding venues, the choice and quality of the food was very important to me.

We ended up deciding to give our guests a choice of three starters, three mains and two puds - my mouth is actually salivating at the thought of the yummy food.

The only problem is that guests made their decision on what to eat several months ago in some cases so we needed to give them a quick reminder.

So I'm making personal menus for everybody which will also double as their name card.

This is a mock up using an old picture of me punched out with the Stampin Up Decorative label punch and they layered up on some Night of Navy card stock which is the base colour too and the layered on metalic silver card stock.

Just need to make another 60 now :)

Evening Invite

I realised I hadn't shared the simpler invite I made for our evening guests.

I love the wedding dress stamp from Stampin Up - so pretty.

I heat embossed in silver on Navy card stock and then layered it up on the light blue shimmer paper.

I went with this design as it was pretty easy to replicate but still tied in with the general theme of the wedding.
