Showcase card - Stampin' Up Lace Embossing Folderhttps://images-blogger-opensocial.googleusercontent.com/gadgets/proxy?url=http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PLmE1_aBrSk/UhN8kyBTaDI/AAAAAAAAABM/S8B7PZEV5W4/s220/Eva%252Band%252Bmummy.jpg&container=blogger&gadget=a&rewriteMime=image/*

Showcase card - Stampin' Up Lace Embossing Folder

I love this new embossing folder - it is so pretty it really doesn't need much embelishment.
I made this very simple card which lets the embossed pattern really take pride of place.
I made a version where I had matted the embossed panel but I didn't like it as much as this simpler version.
The colours are Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana.

It is nice to be back!

It is too long since I've been able to craft! Life has been hectic recently! I had a two week trip to China and Singapore with work and I've also been to Portugal, London and Switzerland quite a bit recently for meetings. Feels like all I do at the moment is travel.

It was also my daughter's birthday last week, can't believe she is two already. I know people call them the 'terrible twos' but I must say I am loving this age!

Things seem to have calmed down this week and I am really enjoying being back in my craft room.

We have a raft of two year birthday parties at the moment, guess that is what happens when all your mummy friends are people you met when you were all pregnant.

This is the card I made for a little boy who is two this weekend. I'm not that experienced at cards for children, in fact Zoo Babies is the only set I have which is children appropriate!

What do you think?

A member of my Stampin Up downline recently qualified as a teacher - well done Tassy!

So today I am sharing this very simple card I made for her to say Congrats!

I think it would also make a great teachers thank you card too.

The wood effect is created using the wonderful Hardwood stamp set from Stampin Up which I love at the moment and congratulations is from my old favourite Sassy Salutations.

Loving the Hardwood effect by Stampin' Up Uk

Loving the Hardwood effect by Stampin' Up Uk

I've had the fantastic hardwood stamp from Stampin' Up for a few weeks now but haven't really had a chance to play with it before tonight when I put together these two simple but effective cards.

I do believe it is my favourite back ground stamp - just look at all that detail!

Both cards also use the lovely and ever popular petite petals stamp set and matching punch - this has been my best seller by far from the seasonal mini - I'm so pleased it has carried over into the new catalogue.

I've also used the itty bitty punch pack flower - I'm so going to miss that set which has now retired.

Fear not however - the replacement is pretty nice too!

Colourful Splats and Butterflies with Stampin' Up Products

Colourful Splats and Butterflies

Yesterday evening saw me production line crafting to make some thank you cards for customers who have recently ordered Stampin' Up products through me - I really do appreciate every order.

As always, if you would like to know more about Stampin' Up or order any products, please get in touch via craftycarolinecreates@gmail.com or call me, 0161 4380668.

The card was inspired by a few I'd seen on Pinterest and as our summer has been so mixed recently working with such bright colours really lifted my mood.

I started with a base of Whisper White Card Stock measuring 13.8cm by 9.5cm and I made the two embossed lines by scoring the card on my Stampin' Up trimmer at 0.5cm and 1cm from each end.

I then flipped the card over and you are left with these gorgeous embossed lines.

The splodges of colour are made using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set, again from Stampin' Up. I wasn't sold on this set when it came out but now I am an absolute convert. It is so versatile and as you can see in this card, very effective. I overlapped each colour slightly and rotated the stamp set 180degrees after each stamp.

The colours I used are, Real Red, Crisp Canteloupe, Crushed Curry, Wild Wasabi and Bermuda Bay

I then punched out the butterflies using the Bitty Butterfly Punch in scraps of card stock which match the ink. The way Stampin' Up products coordinate together is possibly one of the things I love best about the company and this card really highlights this.

I popped each butterfly on to the card using half of a Stampin' Dimensional. It still needed something else so I highlighted the butterflys with jewels and pearls.

Finally, I mounted the the design on a standard Whisper White Card Blank, again using a few Stampin' Dimensionals.

Here they all are lined up and ready to go. I think the card works well in both landscape and portrait.

They will be winging their way to customers today - I hope they like them.

Sounds good doesn't it!

Petite Petals and Hardwood Stampin Up UK Birthday Card

Just a quick post from me today to share this lovely card I made for a very special person's birthday this week.

It uses my brand new Hardwood stamp which I am in love with, I only got it last week and I've already used it on a lot of cards which I'll share over the next few days.

I am still in love with the Petite Petals punch, here it is stamped in bermuda bay and crumb cake.

Star Burst Card for Project Life - Tutorial using Stampin' Up

Star Burst Card for Project Life - Tutorial using Stampin' Up

Thanks for all the nice messages about yesterday's layout I shared. It was lovely to hear that you liked the layout. Quite a few people asked me how I made the star burst rays card in the top right corner - so here is a little tutorial for you.

It is a great way to use up scraps of card stock you might have lying around.

You need to start with a 4 x 6 peice of card or paper and several strips of card in your chosen colours. You can vary the lengths and width or keep them all one length and width if you want a completely uniform look.

Cut the strips in half diagonally and mark the centre of your 6 x 4 card, I find the easiest way is to draw lines from opposite diagonal corners.

Start gluing the diagonal peices to the 6 x 4 card with the pointy bits meeting at the centre.

When you're finished sticking all the peices on to the card, the reverse will look like the below.

Trim off the excess strips down to edges of the 6 x 4 card.

Flip the card over and mount your picture or add your embelishments and it is ready to go in your album.

Another Project Life meets Stampin' Up UK Layout - and Tutorial

Another Project Life meets Stampin' Up Layout

I am really enjoying getting to grips with Project Life.

This is anothe layout I created this weekend show casing some lovely pictures from our holiday last year where my daughter swam in the sea for the first time.

I made the cards myself and the colours just scream summer to me.

I've put together a simple photo tutorial of how I made one of the cards using my existing Stampin' Up stash.

Project Life meets Stampin' Up UK, Wedding Layout

Project Life meets Stampin' Up UK, Wedding Layout

I had never heard about Project Life until Stampin' Up announced a tie up recently but the more I read about the concept, the more I fell in love.

The actual SU products don't actually launch in the UK for another few weeks but armed with a few page dividers I was able to put together my first ever, simple double page spread using some of my favourite pictures from my wedding.

I made the small 3 x 4 cards myself by using my existing Stampin' Up stash. My wedding colour scheme was blue and silver so I maintained that theme on these pages using Stampin' Up Night of Navy, Pool Party, Marina Mist and the gorgeous Smokey Slate.

The Wedding Words wheel was used on a lot of my stationary so it seemed appropriate to use it on the album pages. You can see my invitations HERE and a general showcase of my wedding crafting starting HERE.

I love this sentiment - it works for some many occassions as is so fitting and really true!

If you'd like to buy this wheel or any of the other items used to make this card from Stampin' Up, please pop over to my on-line store HERE or drop me a line directly at craftycarolinecreates@gmail.com - I'd love to hear from you!

Papillon Birthday Card and Wrap with Stampin' Up UK products

I am so sorry I haven't posted for a while, I've been doing so much travelling with work recently that my crafty stash has been left pretty much abandoned these last few months :(

The good news is that I am at home for quite a few weeks now - yah, and am bursting with ideas and can't wait to get back crafting a bit more!

Today's project is a little card and matching envelope I made for a good friend's birthday.

I even made some matching gift wrap using the lovely tag topper punch - love this punch, it is so easy to use and really adds the wow factor! Stampin' Up UK, Flowering Flourishes Card Gift Set - Tutorial

Stampin' Up UK, Flowering Flourishes Card Gift Set - Tutorial

As those of you who read my blog regullarly will know I've been making a few card gift sets recently which have gone down really well with my friends and the tutorials have gone down really well with fellow crafters.

So today I made another set, I used the Flowering Flourishes stamp set which I've neglected a bit recently but it is so pretty - I loved the mix of cards I made - come back to tomorrow to see them!

Start with a peice of A4 card stock.

Score along the long side at 12cm, 13.5cm, 25.5cm and 27cm.

Then cut the sheet of card stock in half along the short side at 10.5cm.

Burnish along the score lines and it will look something like this.

Cut along the score lines highlighted in white in the photo above, it will look as below.

Add sticky strip along the two edges shown below and the fold up the two 'boxes'.

You will have two boxes like in the picture below. Put these to one side at the moment.

Then cut two peices of matching card stock which are 12.2cm wide and 21cm long and score along the base of each peice at 3.5cm and add two peices of sticky strip as shown in this picture.

Over lap the scored ends and stick the two peices together.

Then using sticky strip again, attached the two box peices, one either side of the base, as the base as this picture below illustrates.

I then punched two small holes at the top of each side of flap - I forgot to take a picture of this - sorry but you can see it in the photo below - just above where I've popped in my matching cards.

Fold the box close and tie shut with some ribbon, I've used the georgeous Chevron Ribbon in Wisteria Wonder, pop over to my online store if you would like to by a reel HERE. You can decorate the box however you please - I've used the flowering flourishes to match the cards.
