Sorry for going missing - all is ok!

Hi everybody,
I know things have been quiet on my blog and YouTube for a few weeks now, I am so overwhelmed by the number of people that have got in touch checking that everything is ok.

It has really touched me to know that I have been missed. Huge thanks to everybody that got in touch, it really means a lot to me.

Don't worry, everything is ok, conditions have just conspired against me recently such that I have not had a moment to craft.

Firstly the whole family was hit by a horrid sickness bug - at the same time (was thankful we have more than one toilet in our house at least - tmi!) then Eva and I came down with really heavy colds.

This combined with the fact that November and December are my busiest work months in my 'proper' job, meant that something had to give and it had to be crafting time.

Well to be absolutely honest - I did try and keep all the balls in the air for a while, filming videos at 1am while loaded with cold was never going to be a recipe for success.

I just needed to take some time off, my batteries are running pretty empty and at the moment nobody in my life, and that includes you lovely readers, is getting anywhere near the best of me.

I am writing this with yet another sniffly nose - I hope it doesn't get worse!

I have decided that I am not going to post any new projects until after Christmas, rather than rush some things out quickly, I am going to take the time to come up with some great new ideas for you all.

Customer Thank you gifts for you lovely ladies that shopped with me in November are being posted today - sorry they are late but I still wanted to make some lovely cards and packaging to go with these as always. I hope you like them :)

You will also get a sneak peak of some new product coming in the new Spring/Summer catalogue.

Speaking of the new catalogue, if you have shopped with me in the last 6 months, you can look forward to receiving a copy of the catalogue just after Christmas, it is possibly my favourite SU catalogue ever!

If you haven't shopped with me before, it would still be my pleasure to send you a copy, just drop me an email with your address to craftycarolinecreates@gmail.com
and I will add you to the mailing list.

Ok - that is a long enough post isn't it!

Thanks again for all your well wishes and sorry for anybody I worried.

I will be back sharing my creativity very soon.

Caroline x x

Decadent Hot Chocolate Twizzle Stick - Recipe Inspiration.

Decadent Hot Chocolate Twizzle Stick - Recipe Inspiration.

I am going to start my apologising - these twizzle sticks make such amazing hot chocolate that you will never be able to go back to the instant stuff again!

Honestly, just stir into a mug of warm milk and you will be in chocolate heavan. The chocolate is so rich and the marshmellow will melt into a creamy heap floating on top.

They are incredibly easy to make, scroll down for the video.

I like to make mine in a supersized silicone ice-cube tray. Mine makes 2 inch square blocks. They are the perfect size for a large mug.

Of course you could make smaller ones if you have smaller mugs.

Ingredients

300g Milk Chocolate
100g Dark Chocolate
110g Icing Sugar
40g Cocoa Powder

Marshmellows

I hope you do give it a go, here is the video - but remember my disclaimer at the beginning!

Snowflake Gift Packaging for Hot Chocolate Stirer Sticks - Video Tutorial

Snowflake Gift Packaging for Hot Chocolate Stirer Sticks - Video Tutorial

I am in Brussels at the moment, I flew in yesterday for Stampin' Ups annual convention 'On Stage'. Imagine 600+ demonstrators from all over the world converging for 3 days of all things Stampin' and you have a bit of an idea of the fun we're having.

I did get a sneak peak of the new catalogue which launches in January today - I can't share that with you all just yet but I will have lots of sneak peaks for you all coming soon.

As I am in Brussels, a place famous for its chocolate, it felt only fitting that today's project had a chocolate theme to it.

I first made hot chocolate swizzle sticks a couple of years ago and honestly, they have ruined the instant stuff for me ever since.

They are incredibly easy to make and taste sooooo good - come back tomorrow for the recipe.

Today's video shows how to make the very simple but striking packaging.

I initially made a box to house these but I didn't like the way the swizzle stick was hidden. Using a cellophane bag seemed like a good compromise.

The tray is stamped all over with the snow flake emblem from the Snow Place stamp set. I love this stamp for making backgrounds. I stamped in Versamark and then heat embossed in silver.

If you're not sure how to heat emboss I have a technique video HERE

Here is the video for the box - it is a quite simple project but I hope you like it.

Butterfly Closure Gift Box, Video Tutorial using Stampin' Up Products

Butterfly Closure Gift Box, Video Tutorial using Stampin' Up Products

Each month I send out a little Thank You pack of goodies to all of the lovely people that have shopped with me the previous month.

Choosing the goodies to send and designing a lovely box to hold them is absolutely one of my favourite things to do each month.

If you'd like to see what each person recieved this month you can scroll down further to watch the video where I reveal all, as well as showing you the box itself.

The larger box is simply made using the envelope punch board, the special part is the little box attached to the belly band.

The little butterfly decorating the band also acts as a super closing mechanism - it is a little hard to explain how it works but if you watch the video, all should become clear.

The belly band and the box itself are stamped all over using the Reason for the Season stamp set - not just for Christmas.

I used three different colours, one to match the larger box, Cajun Craze in this case and then two complimenting colours, Always Artichoke and Delightful Dijon here.

I did however make at least one box in all of the Regals.

Here they all are lined up like a rainbow.

Eva's favourite was the Garden Green - and yes I was very nervous of her waving a pen around so close to the boxes!

If you would like to see how to make them - the video is below. I know a lot of the recipients are waiting for this video.

Click HERE to view if you can't see the video.

If you would like to recieve a gift like this in the mail next month, it would be my pleasure to place a Stampin' Up order for you or you can of course shop on-line 24 hours a day.

Ornament Window Gift Box, Video Tutorial, Christmas Gift Box Idea

Ornament Window Gift Box, Video Tutorial

Today's video is a continuation of my series of box I have designed to hold by homemade Christmas gifts.

Today is the turn of this box I designed to hold jars of home made basil pesto. I would have liked to have shared a jar of the pesto with you but it was all eaten by my husband before I had a chance to film a video or even photograph it!

It is really yummy so be sure to come back tomorrow to see the recipe.

The box is decorated using the Ornament Dies - they produce such a beautiful and ornate pattern. I have held these in place using window sheets so you still get a little hint of the present inside.

I hope you enjoy the video.

Weekly Deals are Fab!

Just a super quick post from me today, I'm sitting at the airport waiting for a flight to Dublin for a meeting and I'm taking advantage of the free wifi to let you know just how fabulous the weekly deals from Stampin' Up are this week.

The Flower Medallion Punch must be one of my favourite ever punches, it coordinates with two of my favourite stamp sets, Flurry of Wishes and Crazy About You.

I also love how big a bargain the Embellished Ornaments Stamp Set is. This is such a lovely stamp set and if I didn't already have it, I know I wouldn't be able to resist at such a wonderful price.

If you'd like to take advantage of any of the items in these deals, just click on the big Shop Now button to the right of my blog to go straight to my on-line store or you can drop me and email or give me a call and I would be delighted to place the order for you.

Tag Topper Gift Box, Video Tutorial, Ideal for Tea Lights

Tag Topper Gift Box, Video Tutorial, Ideal for Tea Lights

A friend recently asked me if I had a simple box that would hold two tea lights. She had a stack of fantastic smelling Yankee Candle ones and wanted to re-gift some of them - come on I know we're not the only ones that do it ;)

Coincidentally a follower on my Facebook Page, asked for a similar thing too so it felt about time I put something together.

The first one I made was the Christmas version. The Santa's Hat comes from the Snow Place stamp set. I've just stamped it in Real Red randomly all over a strip of Whisper White Card Stock before punching the ends with the ornante tag topper punch to make the wrap.

As you will see in the video, I then decided to make a 'non-Christmas' version, and turned to two a really lovely colour combination, Early Espresso and Crushed Curry. The pattern on the wrap in this case is made using the ever popular Petite Petals stamp set.

These really are very simple to make and not only will they make great gifts I think they will also sell really well at craft fairs.

Homemade Tomato Relish - Recipe Inspiration

Homemade Tomato Relish - Recipe Inspiration

Thank you for all the lovely comments you made about yesterday's box. I am so glad you like it.

As promised today I am sharing my recipe for the homemade Tomato Relish/Chutney which inspired the need for a nice box to make them even more giftable.

The recipe is one we have been making in our family for years and years- my grandfather used to grow a lot of tomatoes and I mean I lot so I think this probably evolved as another way to use them up!

It goes fantastically well will meat and cheeses and I also really like on burgers.

This recipe is incredibly simple, watch to the video below to see just how easy it is.

Ingredients:
10-12 soft tomatoes.
2 white onions, finely sliced.
2 garlic cloves, finely sliced.
2tbsp sugar.
1tsp of Fennel seeds.
Pinch of chilli flakes.
70ml white wine vinegar.

I also made a hand stamped label - I stamped the word relish in Crushed Curry ink using the huge Larger than Life alphabet stamp set and the the tomato over the top in Real Red using the much smaller back to basic's alphabet set.

I think it looks really striking and modern.

Any way - here is the recipe video, I hope you enjoy and that it inspires you to give it a go.

Click HERE to view if you are reading this in your email.

And if you would like to have a go at making the matching box - that tutorial is HERE

As many people have asked - THIS is a link to the jars I use.

Star Top Gift Box - Video Tutorial using Festival of Trees by Stampin' Up, Ideal for Jars.of Jam or Chutney

Star Top Gift Box - Video Tutorial using Festival of Trees by Stampin' Up, Ideal for Jars.of Jam or Chutney

Today I am sharing with you another box I came up for the homemade gifts I am making in the kitchen in preparation for Christmas.

This is box is going to house jars of my homemade Tomato Relish - a firm family favourite that goes pretty well with everything, I will share the recipe with your tomorrow.

I love the way the top forms a beautiful star shape and makes the box extra special.

The lovely tress along the bottom are made using the super value Festival of Trees stamp set- a bargain at only £14.00.

I just used one colour of ink, Mossy Meadow, the multi-tone trees are created by stamping more than once before reinking.

The sentiments come from the Jingle All The Way stamp set, stamped in Cherry Cobbler.

Thee box is held closed using the Garden Green Striped Ribbon.

I hope you enjoy the video and come back tomorrow to learn how to make the relish.

Stampin' Up Colour Swatches - Free Printable Download

Stampin' Up Colour Swatches - Free Printable Download

Thank you to everybody that got in touch to say how much they liked the colour sampler that I made to send out to new members of my Stampin' Up team.

It really is handy to have all the colours to hand as a quick reference and as so many people said to me - the catalogue doesn't always do them justice.

If you would like to make your own version - it is my pleasure to share a printable file with you, just click HERE to be taken to the free downloadable file

I would recommend you print onto some Whisper White card stock and then cut up along the lines shown.

You can then punch out a butterfly of each colour and stick these down - I used a little TomBow on the back of each.

I rounded the corners of each strip and then held them all together with some satin ribbon.

If you don't fancy making one yourself, you could join my Stampin' Up team and it would be my pleasure to pop one in the post to you as part of you Welcome Pack.

Just click on the join my team link to the right to choose your £130 of goodies for just £99 including shipping.

If your Stampin' Up wish list is more than £99 you really have nothing to loose and so much to gain.
