Papillon Potpourri Hand Made Gift Box - Stampin' Up UK

Papillon Potpourri Hand Made Gift Box - Stampin' Up UK

This is a box I first made over a year ago but have remade many times as I really do think it is a gorgeous, elegant box that really gives a wow factor to gifts. Hope you all agree.

I had to make a few more recently as a friend wanted to make some for a butterfly themed baby shower so I thought I would made a little video at the same time.

I LOVE the Chevron Ribbon from SU, if you regularly read my blog you will know I use it a lot!
I was pretty disappointed to see it on the retiring list - but that just means a good reason to stock up at a great price doesn't it?
For the base:
Card stock 7.5inches be 7.5 inches, score at 2.5inches on all sides or
18cm by 18cm, score at 6cm on all sides.
For the lid:
4 9/16 inch by 4 9/16 inch, score on all sides at 1 inch or
11.2cm by 11.2cm, score on all sides at 2.5cm

Handmade Crazy About You Note Card Gift Box - Tutorial

Handmade Crazy About You Note Card Gift Box - Tutorial

Back today with another way of presenting a set of 4 x 4 inch gift cards as a gift.
The box design is pretty simple but I really love the pattern on the box.
It shows just how simple it is to get a really gorgeous effect from just a few products.

This was the first time I'd inked up this stamp and was just going to stamp a few to punch out, but then noticed how lovely the pattern and from there this box evolved.

Don't you love how when you're crafting you suddenly start in one direction and then end up in another.

Hope you enjoy the video

I also think this is a great general gift box, I think the pattern looks really elegant, love the effect from the Crazy for You stamp set.

Hand Made Note Card Gift Set - Petal Potpourri by Stampin' Up

Hand Made Note Card Gift Set - Petal Potpourri by Stampin' Up

Thank you to everybody who gave me such lovely feedback on last weeks card set gift box.

Inspired by the positivity, both from my reviewers ad the recipients of the sets, I have come up with another lovely, but oh so simple way of gifting a set of cards again.

Scroll down for the video of how to put this set together.

I have made two versions, one in Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight and another in Basic Black and Melon Mambo.

How gorgeous is that belly band - loving these bright colours and the matching punch makes perfectly cutting out the stamped image so simple - and I like simple!

Each of the wallets here hold 4 of the Stampin' Up note cards and their envelopes. You can fit 6 cards in each side but I think 4 fits more comfortably and is a nice number to give as a little gift.

I love the detail of this lacy stamp - so pretty, as I say in the video, I nearly didn't buy this stamp set as I already have a lot of flowers but I am so pleased that I did, I really love it.

And here is the finished article with their belly bands in place.

What do you think?

Let me know if you think the colour combinations work.
Card Stock base, 8 1/4 inch by 11 inch or 21cm by 28cm
Score along long side at 5 1/2 inches or 14cm
Score along the short side at 4 1/8 inch or 10.5cm
Belly band is 1 1/2 inch by 9 inches or 3.8cm by 23cm
Score at 2 1/4 inches and 6 3/8 inch or 5.7cm by 16.2cm

Hand made cards, hand made gift box

Hand made cards, hand made gift box

I love making cards but quite often I seem to end up making more cards than I have occassions to send cards for.

I do find however that a set of handmade cards make a perfect little gift, especially when packaged in a matching handmade box too and this box has always gone down well.

I've designed this box to take UK A6 cards ( A4 cut in half and then folded) plus corresponding envelopes but I believe it also fits US A2 cards perfectly too.

I hope you enjoy this video - it does drag a little at the end due to my forgetfulness - sorry about that.

Dimensions are;

First bit of card stock
8 1/4 inches by 9 1/2 inches
21cm by 24cm

Score at 7 1/4 inches or 18.5cm

Cut in half at 4 3/4 inches or 12cm

Second bit of card stock
11 inches by 8 1/4 inches
28cm by 21cm

Score on long side
4 3/4 inches, 5 1/4 inches, 10 inches and 10 1/2 inches
12cm, 13.3cm, 25.4cm and 26.7cm

Score on short side
1/2 inch and 7 3/4 inches
1.7cm and 19.7cm
