Picnic Style Double Flap Box Tutorial, Handmade Box Idea

Picnic Style Double Flap Box Tutorial, Handmade Box Idea

My nearly 3 year old daughter is at the stage when she just wants to be exactly like mummy and she always wants to carry a handbag just like mine.

A few weeks ago we were off on a family picnic and she got a little upset (read - threw a whopper of a tantrum in the style that only two year olds can), because she didn't have a picnic basket of her own.

I managed to placate her by promising to make her a picnic basket when we got home and that is a rather long winded way of explaining just how today's project came about!

This box is big - I wanted it big enough so that Eva could fit her own little sandwiches in it along with some other snacks. She has however elected to use it to carry necklaces and 'lipsticks' - did I mention she is also incredibly girly!

It is 7 inches by 4 inches by 2 inches deep - so you can certainly fit a lot in.

I had to use my favourite DSP again, Bohemian, this paper has really sparked a little mini love affair with DSP for me, you obviously just need to meet the right paper to see what all the fuss is about!

The other DSP is called Pretty Petals and that comes in a 6 x 6 inch stack and I must admit to loving that stack too - what has happened to me? I don't 'do' DSP!

I hope you enjoy the video - I think I make it look a little more complicated than it actually is, if you do give a go, I'd love to see your version.
