Today is the start of a new series of projects I am going to be sharing in the run up to Christmas - I even make an on camera debut in the video!
Every year I make lots of goodies to give as presents over the Christmas period and over the next few months I am going to be sharing a lot of these with you.
One of my biggest hits is Apple and Blackberry Gin. It is sweet and warming but the green apple gives it a wonderful freshness.
One of my biggest hits is Apple and Blackberry Gin. It is sweet and warming but the green apple gives it a wonderful freshness.
It is great sipped neat or lengthened with tonic or lemonade.
It does take about 4 weeks to develop though so you do need to plan a little ahead - I will share the recipe with you all tomorrow.
I love the way crafting can collide with my other passion of cooking to make these home made gifts extra special.
I designed these gift boxes with my homemade gin in mind but they work work perfectly for gifting any bottle or anything long and thin for that matter - such as a candle.
The lovely large snow flake pattern comes from the Holly Jolly Greeting's stamp set. I have started by stamping all over the card stock before scoring. One version is Night of Navy stamped on Smoky Slate, the other is Gold heat embossed on Real Red - that looks amazing in real life, you'll see in the video, the photo really doesn't do it justice
.
The box reminds me of a miner's lamp - we did visit an old copper mine while we were on holiday in Italy, so maybe that is where the inspiration some from? What do you think?
Hope you enjoy the video and are inspired to give it a go yourself.

DeleteLove! Love! Love this!! I have a bottle of wine I am giving to my boss and would love to put it in a box like this. The bottle is approx. 3-1/2" at the bottom and approx. 11-3/4" high. Trying to figure out the dimensions for scoring, but getting a headache! Any suggestions? Thank you in advance and God Bless!
