Butterfly Lid Gift Box Tutorial Using Stampin' Up Pretty Petals andBold Butterfly Die

Butterfly Lid Gift Box Tutorial Using Stampin' Up Pretty Petals and Bold Butterfly Die

I am really pleased with how these boxes have turned out.

They are a really good size and just look so pretty and elegant - I have really struggled to get a good picture so be sure to watch the video to see just how lovely they are.

There is a window sheet under the die cut butterfly so you get a lovely little sneak peak of the contents. While we're talking about the butterfly - how pretty are they. They are cut using the Bold Butterfly framelit and using the new Precision Plate on the big show makes popping them out of the die super simple.

The DSP is from the lovely Pretty Petals stack, I really love these great value stacks, there is such a range of patterns.

Both boxes close with Calypso Coral ribbon, one of the feature colours in the DSP, this one is an Old Olive box while I have used Mint Macaron for the other.

Can I also let you into a little secret - the little flower accent is actually Watermelon Wonder but I think it is a close enough match to Calypso Coral.

Quite unusually for me, I didn't make this box with a contents in mind - I normally design my boxes around a gift I have already bought but in this case, I don't yet know what is going to inside, but I'm sure I'll find something - the are such lovely boxes. What would you put inside?

  1. I think I'd leave the ties longer so that the box could be closed again as it is too pretty to throw away! Or have you another crafty idea for a closue, Caroline? I love your tutorials.

    1. I agree - far too pretty to throw away, hopefully the ribbon can be re-tired.
I am playing around with a version that closes with magnets so watch this space as they say!
