Ribbon Supported Lidded Box - Video Tutorial Using Lots of Love from Stampin' Up

Today's box was very much inspired by a creation of the very talented Sam Clayton who you may know from Mixed Up Crafts.

Sam shared a gorgeous box she had made which had a chain supporting the lid. I loved it and thought is was a fabulous idea and today's project is my interpretation of that box.

You can see Sam's box HERE. Mine is a simpler version of her's which is beautifully lined. I've also used ribbon for my lid support - this is probably my favourite new ribbon so far - the loved Sheer Ribbon in Fresh Fig.

All of the stamping on this box is done using the new Lots of Love Stamp Set.

You can see just how it is made by watching my YouTube video HERE.

I hope you enjoy and if you do give it a go, let me see your version.

My Top Stamping Tips - Stampin' Up

One of my lovely customers, Elizabeth, got in touch recently to ask if I had any tips to help her improve her stamping.

Rather than try and write them all down, I thought I would film her a little video.

I thought it might be useful to make a video I could share with you all as perhaps it would be useful to some more of you.

So here it is - my Top Stamping Tips.

If you have any other tips, please do let me know, I'd love to hear them.

Oh So Eclectic Interlocking Circles Gift Box - Video Tutorial with Stampin' Up Products

For somebody that doesn't normally 'do' DSP I seem to be using it a lot at the moment.

Today's box is a little bit special I think - not only does it show off the lovely new Naturally Eclectic DSP, it also has a really clever opening made from 4 interlocking circles.

The circles lift open to reveal a lovely lined inside - this does two jobs, as well as adding a little wow factor it also hides all of the joins nicely to give a really neat finish.

The lid stays closed all by itself but I've added a little extra wow factor with a belly band made of linen thread and some stamped and die cut images from the coordinating Oh So Eclectic bundle - love that watercolour look.

It might look complicated to make but it really isn't - watch my YouTube video HERE to see just how simple it it.

As always, if you would like to buy any Stampin' Up products, you can shop on line 24/7 in my online shop HERE, or get in touch at craftycarolinecreates.com and it would be my pleasure to help.

Happy Birthday Gorgeous - Tempting Twist Card Inspiration

Quite excited today, I am taking part in a fabulous blog hop with a lovely collection of fellow demos.

We're all showcasing some of our favourite products from the brand new Stampin' Up catalogue.

Do keep on moving through the hop after reading my post, there are some beautiful projects to see and lots of inspiration.

My card today is a clean and simple idea using Happy Birthday, Gorgeous which is fast becoming a firm favourite - it really is so versatile. You can use it for quite gender neutral cards like this as well as super feminine projects like THIS ONE.

For this card I cut some strips of card stock 3/4 inch wide in Tempting Turquoise and Lemon Lime Twist and layered these up on a base of Whisper White which you can just see peeking out to give a lovely border.

The Lemon Lime Twist Happy Birthdays are all stamped by hand - the photo polymer stamp makes lining these all up so easy.

I've also used the new Pretty Label punch for the large Happy Birthday sentiment - this is also becoming a real go to punch.

Keep on hopping and visit Hannah next - she has a beautiful project waiting for you.

Whole Lot of Lovely Stunning Gift Box - Video Tutorial with Stampin' Up Products

I LOVE today project - I think it is one of my favorite projects ever!

If you have followed me for a while you will know that I am not always the biggest fan of DSP generally, it doesn't usually get me overly excited but these papers - wow, I finally get it!

In fact, I really like every sheet of the Whole Lot of Lovely DSP pack. Doesn't it just look so pretty made in a gift box here.

I even have included a picture of the back of this project just so you can see how beautiful this gorgeous paper really is.

This uses a lovely new ribbon too, this is the crinkly seam binding ribbon in Peek-a-boo Peach. I didn't like this ribbon on first glance but I think it looks really lovely here.

The big, bold sentiment comes from the Lots of Love stamp set - embossed in gold it really pops. Heat embossing was the technique which hooked me on crafting and the magic still isn't old!

If you would like to see how I made the box and see that DSP in all its close up glory - click HERE for my video.

Three Inspirational Cards and an Invite - Come Craft With Me on Friday

If you watched me live on Facebook earlier this week you will have already heard me talk about how if I am struggling for inspiration, I set myself little challenges.

Things like - make some cards using just two colours, stamping, a die cut and some ribbon.

I find that sometimes narrowing the options actually makes me more creative.

With all the lovely new goodies I have right now I was feeling a little overwhelmed so I set myself just that challenge and here are the three cards I came up with in little under an hour.

Hope you like them - which is your favourite?
I think mine is the leaves one made using Colourful Seasons.

I love the Hugs card but think the ribbon needs to be a different colour, I think I will swap this out for a flash of Lemon Lime Twist Ribbon - that is one of the nice thing about these challenges, you can tweak the end results to make them perfect!

And now for an invite for you all.

I will be crafting on Friday evening and was going to set myself a few challenges like this one and I suddenly thought - why don't I invite my crafting friends to join me - virtually of course, as much as I would love to host you all, my craft room is tiny!

I will be running an evening of crafty challenges over on Facebook, there will be prizes and hopefully lots of fun and inspiration.

I would love it if you joined me. Everybody is welcome, demo, customer or simply a follower.

Click HERE to head over to Facebook business page, see the event details and join in.

Daisy Delight - Flip Top Card Box - Video Tutorial with Stampin' Up Products

I am so sorry that this project is a little late today - I had a blonde moment and scheduled both the video and this post for tomorrow - no idea why. Better late than never at least!

This is a lovely gift box which I designed to send out thank you gifts to all of my customers who shopped with me in May.

The box houses two card blanks in each of the 5 new in-colours plus a 1m length of each of finely woven ribbon in the same new in-colours.

Because it houses the card stock so perfectly - you could also use it as a gift box for a set of handmade cards.

Each customer also received the Background Bits stamp set - I really do appreciate everybody that shops with me and love using the accumulated hostess rewards to treat them all to lovely gifts each month.

I love Daisy punch - and as I said yesterday, so have do a lot of people apparently!

Ordering of this punch is going to be temporarily turned off around 3pm this afternoon - if you want to get this punch in the near future, you need to order today!

Ready to see how the box was made?

Daisy Punch - last time to order for a while.

The Daisy Punch is certainly one of my favourite products from the new catalogue.

It appears I am not the only one - in fact Stampin' Up have sold what they expected to sell in a whole year in just a matter of weeks!

They have therefore taken the unusual decision to stop taking
new orders of this punch at 3pm tomorrow, 13th June.

Ordering will only be possible again once stock levels in the warehouse are built up again.

If you want to get your hands on this punch in the near future, make sure you place your order straight away.

Click HERE to order from my online shop.

New Baby Card Idea with Balloon Bouquet and Letters for You

This is a card I made a few weeks ago for a friend who had just welcomed a gorgeous little boy into the world - no prizes for guessing what they called him.

As I sat down to make the card, I realised I had no traditional new baby stamps - I know, surprising right!

I had to improvise a little and am really pleased with the result.

I was a little concerned the colours, well the Night of Navy, was a bit dark, but I shared it with my lovely team and they pretty much all liked it so I rolled with it and I think it went down very well.

I played around with trying to add a Congratulations sentiment but it just looked better without - sometimes crafting is about knowing when to stop isn't it.

You just can't beat a little something handmade can you.

Background Bits Clear Block Stamping Thank You Card

Sorry I didn't have a video for you yesterday, after a week long series of videos I thought I would take a day off - sorry to those that wondered where I was and missed my usual Friday video.

Back today with a card for you all using a technique I tried out for the first time last week, clear block stamping.

Why haven't I tried it before?

I love the results!

Here I used my markers in Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Calypso Coral on clear block H - a quick spritz of water before stamping and that lovely ombre flash is the gorgeous result.

A few feature accents using the Background Bits hostess exclusive set and a gorgeous card was done in no time.

Have you tried this technique before? What colours have worked well for you? I will certainly be playing around with this some more.

Happy Birthday Gorgeous Double Flap Gift Box - Video Tutorial, New Stampin' Up Catalogue Week.

Today's project is inspired by a project from a few years ago, when I made a much larger version of this box.

You can see the original project HERE

I have used Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry together here, don't they pop against each other.

The little flowers and the beautiful curly sentiment come from the fabulous Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set.

This set is so versatile I know I will be using it a lot.

The ribbon is new too, mini-chevron ribbon, it is a lovely soft ribbon that ties perfectly.

I do still have a spot or two left in my ribbon share, if you would like 1m of 40 brand new ribbons, just click HERE to find out more.

Want to see how the box is made? I have a YouTube tutorial for you of course, watch it HERE.
